Day 7: Today was our first day with our Odysseys Unlimited, Portrait of Italy tour. At our hotel, we joined 20 other travelers from the USA and went by bus to Ravello, a beautiful medieval town on a cliff overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. We enjoyed walking the town, checking out the ancient villas and enjoying the breathtaking views. By noon the sun came out, and we traveled to the town of Amalfi where we made our way past hundreds of tourists to the Museo Della Carta (Paper Museum). There we learned that paper was a major product of Amalfi from 1100 until 1969 using waterpower only. Mary even tried her hand at making paper. After touring the town, we hiked to neighboring Atrani, and explored this town of 1,500 residents with a lovely sandy beach and few tourists.
