Italy Day 9: Under sunny skies we left the Amalfi Coast and traveled through Naples to the Abbey of Montecassino. This was the Abbey founded by St. Benedict. We had a private tour of the Abbey, which was destroyed and rebuilt four times. It was stunning. After the tour, we traveled on to Rome and arrived in time to check out the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain before dark. We were amazed by the number of tourists everywhere since we are here early in their tourist season.
