Day Twelve Wednesday, July 27 – We had a busy morning today exploring the beautiful Kalowna, BC area. We met with the owner of a local cherry orchard/farm that has been in his family since 1914, and learned about growing cherries. Then we moved on to a winery overlooking Okanagan Lake to sample and learn about British Columbia wines.
We spent the afternoon exploring downtown Kelowna, BC and enjoying Okanagan Lake. This lake is 84 miles long, 3 miles wide, and 760 feet deep. Okanagan Lake is called a fjord lake as it has been carved out by repeated glaciations.
