We picked up breakfast at a small shop across from our hotel and ate it in our room.  Then we checked out and went to the Le Brea Tar Pits and the Museum of Motion Pictures. Both stops were very interesting. It is amazing all the ancient fossils found in the naturally occurring asphalt (tar) right in LA! Although we are not movie buffs, we really enjoyed the Museum of Motion Pictures and the four hours we spent there flew by.  Then we returned the rental car and went to the Qantas Lounge. We enjoyed some great food and drinks until we boarded the flight for Australia.  This was our first time in Business Class, and we were able to get more and better sleep than usual.  The flight was 16 hours long.
