Our flight from Ayers Rock (Uluru) to Cairns was supposed to be direct and short, but that did not happen. When we arrived at the airport, we found our flight had been cancelled and we were rerouted to Sydney with a five-hour layover before we could fly to Cairns. Our Trip Leader worked some magic and arranged for us to be picked up at the Sydney Airport. Then we went wine tasting, and did a hike at Organ Pipes National Park, located just outside Sydney.

Our flight to Cairns left in late evening and we arrived in our hotel in Port Douglas, north of Cairns at 1:30 AM! It was a very long day, with limited photos.
